The only way to the light at the end of the tunnel is through it. 

It’s in times like these we’ve got to keep telling ourselves this. There is chaos around us and the best thing to do is stay home and stop the spread. But I’m sure you already know it. 

Staying at home can be tough, especially with  harsh truths filling our ears up. It is in times like these we have to keep being resilient and try our best to think happy thoughts. 

As creators, we are often thinking if it is okay to keep creating content, if it is okay to continue with the social media hustle and if what we are doing is even relevant right now. 

This article is an attempt to answer these thoughts for you. 

As rightly said by Ananya Das in her live session with Rotary Club of Delhi Elite, it is okay to keep creating content. If you believe that your content is an antidote to the chaos outside, and if you are in the right mental space to do what you do, then go do it!

 I know for a fact that you’d be making at least one person smile with a happy picture or a funny reel, if not more. But first, you have to make sure you’re doing okay and your mental health has the bandwidth to put yourself out there. For some, hustlin’ and working is what helps them and for some taking a day off, watching some Netflix helps and both are OKAY! You have to figure out what’s best for you. 

Creators all over Instagram have taken up charge to find COVID resources, to find beds, oxygen suppliers, plasma donations, meals for the ill, medicines and so much more!! As a creator first platform we couldn’t be more proud of the creator/influencer community. You guys have been warriors and you guys have the power to make the endless social media scrolling experience a good one. You have the power to make people forget about the outside world and just smile. So yes, what you do is very much relevant right now and if you really want to you can keep Doing Your Thng. 

However, for those of you who aren’t very comfortable with the hustle in times of distress- you do you. Take a break, spend time with loved ones, go for a walk outside, journal your thoughts and never hesitate to reach out. I know everybody is saying this a lot but YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You don’t have to go through it alone. Just picking up the phone and leaving one text to someone you love or someone who can help you will do wonders. 

The simple thought of reaching out is a sign of the resilience within you. And if you just cannot any more- switch everything off. Zone out into your happy place and come back only if you are feeling better. 

“You are important and you should be your priority.”

Remember this when times are tough. 

Remember this if the weight of your commitments are weighing you down. 

Remember this if you ever doubt yourself.
